CANO , PIPE or BARREL
A siphon, or underground hydraulic infrastructure through which the application of the technique of communicating vessels facilitates and protects the circulation of water of an irrigation canal, allowing for the avoidance of orographic accidents due to changes in terrain. The Royal Irrigation Canal of Montcada has two very important: The “Cano of Carraixet,” built in 1632 to pass water from the main channel to the bed of the ravine between the municipalities of the Alfara of the Patriarch and Vinalesa; and “Cano of the ravine of Puig and Puçol,” built in the 18th century to overcome the bed of this stream between the same two towns themselves (Puig and Puçol).
