The four planks of this return ditch that were formerly located in Paterna, were originally the point of concession for the Túria water allotments for those who benefited from the Royal Irrigation Canal of Montcada irrigation ditches in those times. From this point, and after having removed one or two planks, water was proportioned to users downstream their allotments in times of drought or extended very low water levels. Over the centuries, this became a geo-strategic and point of high tension in the city of Valencia and the canals of the Water Tribunal.
