TEMPERATURES

We can observe, in areas irrigated by the Royal Irrigation Canal of Montcada, a small inverse gradient of average annual temperatures from South to North, caused by not just latitude, but also the island of heat which is generated by the city of València and that influences the temperatures of the agricultural garden closest to its sphere of influence.

Plants need certain amounts of heat to conclude successfully their various stages of development. Thermal integrals are a good indicator to establish criteria for assessing the implementation of a specific crop. In our case, the thermal integral of the irrigation area of the Royal Irrigation Canal of Montcada allows for a wide range of crops.
