THE LAYOUT OF IRRIGATION CANALL AND ITS TOPOGRAPHIC RELIEF

As presented to us today, the area irrigated by the Royal Irrigation Canal of Montcada, this settles, generally, over geological structures of recent formation — clays and silts — in such a way that this irrigated space is found, most of the times, to the margins of sandstone and limestone formations that appear as if they were projections of the spaces located to the right margin of the canal.

Only in well explained occasions does the trajectory of the canal cross some of these formations, forced by the need to maintain a certain level to allow for the flow of water.
