THE SOILS OF THE THE ROYAL CANAL OF MONCADA. EDAPHIC FORMATIONS

FLUVISOILS

These are young soils that have originated from alluvial deposits, i.e. on materials transported and settled by the action of processes such as flooding and recurrent floods, properties of our own climate. It is a very productive soil which has been utilized extensively for use in agriculture and which regularly has loamy-clay and loamy-silt textures.

The fluvisoils of the Royal Irrigation Canal of Montcada have a calcareous character associated with the nature of the interior topographic relief from which their material originated. The soil texture is loamy-sandy and with a granular structure that can be deep and well drained.
