While the temperatures throughout the year would allow for the cultivation of a variety of plants, the almost lack of humididity in natural conditions would prohibit the cultivation of a large part of them.
The Túria River, in the natural system, behaves like any Mediterranean River, and is marked by a strong drought in summer months. Its ability to provide water for irrigation to crops is based on an inverse relationship between the crop water requirements and the water available. A consequence of this drought was, in the past, the inevitable adoption of extraordinary measures to ensure the viability of crops.
