FROST

Frost caused by an invasion of cold air or a temperature inversion can cause importance damage to the cultivation of vegetables. In general, rotations cycles of crops, vegetables, and cereals, adapted cold winter weather with the climatic, helped to adapt, but arboreal crops, especially citrus fruits, and some horticultural rops such as artichokes, suffer the pernicious effects of intense cold.

In recent history include freezes in 1763, 1789 and 1885, severely affecting the orange trees, even the carob. Already during the 20th century were particularly severe effects of frost, 1926, 1946, 1956 and 1962.
